Modernising outdated infrastructure
Sofico faced challenges with their aging data center infrastructure, which no longer met the efficiency and usability needs of their growing global operations. The complex system required significant effort to maintain and often led to downtime, impacting employee productivity and customer service.
The outdated infrastructure made it difficult to ensure seamless operations across their global offices, leading to potential delays and inefficiencies. This directly affected their ability to provide high-performance systems to their users, which is critical in a time-sensitive industry like auto leasing.
Sofico needed a modern, efficient infrastructure solution that could reduce downtime, improve update efficiency, and support future growth, all while ensuring a smooth transition from on-premises to cloud-based operations.
Solution
Implementing Nutanix Hyperconverged Infrastructure
Sofico chose Nutanix’s Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) to replace their outdated system, providing a streamlined, all-in-one solution for storage, computing, and networking. Nutanix’s Cloud Platform allowed for fully automated updates, reducing the risk of downtime, and offered the flexibility to run Kubernetes clusters on-premises.
The project was executed with a Proof of Concept (PoC) phase, where Sofico’s IT team could extensively test the technology in a real-world setting. The implementation was completed in a fraction of the typical time, thanks to the mature expertise of Sofico’s IT team and their collaboration with Nutanix. Automation via Ansible further streamlined the process, allowing for quick adjustments and configuration.
